Mike Lax helped Waldaf Town pip HMH to third place in Division One of the Maccabi Masters Football League.

A solitary effort from Lax ensured Waldaf clinched the points in the final match of the MMFL season in a game where Scrabble Harmen's stand-in goalkeeper Paul Gelernter produced a series of heroic saves.

Chigwell Athletic reached the final of the MMFL/MGBSFL Invitation Cup with a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over SPEC FC.

The tie finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, with Steve Summers scoring for the veterans, cancelling out SPEC’s first half opener.

Chigwell will now face the winners of the last four tussle involving North London Raiders against Faithfold Masters.

Chigwell boss Richard Slater said: 'We just about deserved to go through. We were really sloppy in the first half, but much better in the second.

"We defended well as a team and moved the ball much quicker. It's nice to reach a final and we'll enjoy the day."

Raiders defeated Faithfold's MGBSFL team 5-4 on penalties after the tie finished 1-1 after normal time. Saul Conway netted for Raiders.
