EasyJet has launched four new routes from Liverpool John Lennon airport, with flights to Palermo in Sicily, Pula in Croatia, and Dalaman in Turkey, carrying an expected 20,000 passengers this summer.
A fourth route to Toulouse, in France, is also set to depart from October, bringing the airline’s total destinations out of the airport up to 32.
We do like the seaside
This summer’s heatwave has seen a huge surge in popularity for traditional seaside destinations such as Margate, Southend-on-Sea and Scarborough, according to research by the Trainline app.
More than half of those surveyed said they’re more likely to take a staycation than before, with Southend on Sea more popular by 210% since 2016, followed by Margate, which has seen a 164% rise in popularity — thanks also to its hipster makeover, including the reopening of Dreamland and the town’s quirky Shell Grotto.
The research is based on summer bookings from the past two years, to tie in with the app’s Price Prediction tool, which suggests how long train tickets can be bought at the lowest available price.
Relax in the wellbeing playground
A new pop-up outdoor urban spa is coming to London in September, promising to give visitors “the blissed-out feeling of a full holiday in under an hour”.
Paradise Now, designed by Bompas & Parr, is using new wellness trends from bio-hacking to urban nature bathing to give visitors a boost.
Set in Ecclestone Yards in Belgravia from September 7-15, the free spa is also due to have live streaming of sunsets from around the world as well as colour therapy treatments, including a pink mist waterfall plus scented pink pebbles in the meditation zone to help reduce anxiety.
