Wimbledon was smashing, says Reinberg

articlemain

American teenager Emil Reinberg “loved” his first Wimbledon experience after succumbing in the second round of the Junior Boys Singles.

"I like playing on grass, but I know I need to make some improvements and keep working on my forehand."

Among his support team at SW19, Reinberg was cheered on by his parents and sisters. His father, Yakov, who was born in Russia, says his family have rediscovered their Jewish roots after moving to America.

"In Russia we couldn’t keep the Jewish traditions as we could not go to synagogue and it was very difficult," he said.

"But now we live in Georgia in America we observe the high holy days and enjoy kosher meals and traditions whenever we can."
