Joel Nathan has spoken of his pride as Team GB prepare to wave goodbye to the 20th Maccabiah Games.

Team GB's final haul included six golds, 11 silver medals and 13 bronze medals.

They have also taken home one composite gold and four composite bronzes. 

There might have been bitter disappointment on the Games' final day when Team GB lost all four finals they competed in.

But Team GB's General Team Manager says the Games has been an overriding success, paying tribute to his delegation of 385 athletes, coaches and managers that competed in more than 30 sports.

"There are times in life which will stay with you forever and I will never forget these past 16 days," said Nathan.

"And while there are so many highlights, seeing Eden Davis winning the 100m being one of them, the opening ceremony was without doubt the most special. 

"Marching into Teddy Stadium with the squad and seeing all their families and supporters in the stands was priceless.

"There's so many people to thank, from the managers, coaches, medics and the athletes.

"Every single athlete has done themselves, their families and the Jewish people of Great Britain proud.

"I said to them at the beginning of the games they should embrace every moment as this experience is something they will remember for the rest of your lives.

"I hope they took that on board as I will certainly remember everything that they have achieved both on and off the sporting field.

"I have been involved with a few Maccabiah squads and without doubt this was the best squad spirit I have ever encountered."

Team GB eclipsed the 24 medals they won at the Jewish Olympics four years ago. 

"For the medal winners, please wear those medals on your journey home with the pride they deserve, as not may people can say they won a Maccabiah medal," added Nathan.

"So thanks to all of you for these Maccabiah memories and goodbye from Israel for now."
