SOUTH MANCHESTER SPORTS CLUB 1st 6 DELOITTE 1
South Manchester continued their rich vein of form and scoring with a convincing 6-1 victory over Deloitte on Sunday.
Deloitte have proved to be a bit of a bogy side over the last few year, but South started brilliantly and could have been three goals to the good within the first five minutes.
Displaying fantastic attacking football, Deloitte couldn't cope with the ever impressive Adam Lavin and he opened the scoring with a towering header after 20 minutes. Marc Yaffe doubled the lead two minutes later and by half time the score was 3-0.
Disappointed not to be more by up at half time, South started where they left off and made it 4-0 through Lavin within five minutes of kick off and the game was over. But for some brilliant world-class saves from the Deloitte goalkeeper, it could have been much more.
South manager Jody Marks told JC Sport: "I am delighted with the way we are playing at the moment and we fully deserve to be top of the league.
"I am actually disappointed we conceded a goal as it would have been great to have kept our fifth clean sheet in six games.
"We now have two huge league games coming up over the next two weeks, but if we apply ourselves properly, I feel we will go into the Morrison game top of the league.
"Special mention to Dan Francis who set the tone with a commanding display in midfield and allowed our front five the freedom to express themselves."
