MJSL JOAN COLLINS PREMIER DIVISION
REICH 3 MACCABI MANCHESTER BLUE 1
Storm Dennis relented and the teams stepped out on 3G at Abraham Moss. A scrappy first half was brought to life with an incredible run from deep in his own half by Reich full-back Alex Harris, who then unleashed an unstoppable shot from 30 yards and Blues' debutante goalkeeper Benji Cope, 16, could only watch go into the top corner of the net.
Reich fully deserved their lead, however it was short-lived as a mix up at the back between defender and Reich keeper Leo Addleman gifted Blues an equaliser from Elliott Wallis to make it 1-1 at half-time.
The home side dominated play in the second half, with Matt Feingold pulling the strings in midfield, and despite some good saves from Cope eventually the pressure told and Silverstone won and converted a penalty.
Silverstone quickly made it 3-1 after hard work by Shloimi Hlapern set him up for a tap in.
Shimi Mozes would later hit the crossbar before Simon Mann receiving his second yellow card of the game and his marching orders and the Blues manager Aaron Levin also saw red late on as frustrations grew, as game slipped away from the visitors.
Reich worked hard and ground out the result against an experienced Blues team and we are now only two games away from what would be their first league title, if results go their way.
The Maccabi derby is scheduled for Wednesday night 8pm.
