MJSL PREMIER DIVISION
SOUTH MANCHESTER SPORTS CLUB 2nd 2
HAROLDEANS 6
The Merseysiders maintained top spot in the MJSL thanks to Adam Shiffman’s hat-trick.
It needed a strong second-half performance from the visitors to see off South Manchester who had frustrated the defending champions for the opening 45 minutes.
“We are producing professional performances but I think there’s still more to come from the side,” said Bloomberg.
“I don’t feel we have hit top form yet which bodes well for the season ahead.”
The win was sealed by further strikes from Maxim Green (2) and Jack Green.
Bloomberg said: “I think the league’s standard has improved from last season which means we will have to perform well to win matches.”
South Manchester 2nd replied via Ollie Gordon and David Searle as their inconsistent start continued.
Elsewhere, the wet weather meant three games due to be played at Brooklands and Frederick Road were called off.
Maccabi Manchester Blue's game with South Manchester Sports 1st fell foul to the conditions. The matches involving Prestfield and Reich and Sedgley Park Celtic’s game with Maccabi Manchester Yellow were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
