David Peters, 40, raced to the top of the UK M40 rankings with a PB of 4:10.9 in the New York FifthAvenue Mile.

London-based Peters said: "My race was invitation-only and included runners from USA, Canada, Ethiopia and Ireland. My overriding memories of the day include the huge cheers from the crowds lining Fifth Avenue as we raced towards the finish."

Peters also recently took part in a training run alongside double Olympic champion Haile Gebrselassie.
