Cruiserweight prospect Ran Nakash extended his winning run to 19 fights with a fourth-round stoppage over American William “The Storm” Bailey in New Jersey.
Bailey was undone by Nakash’s body punches, causing the referee to step in 1 minute 49 seconds into the round at the Prudential Centre in Newark.
It was the hard-hitting Haifa boxer’s 15th inside-the-distance victory since turning professional three years ago. He has moved up to No 28 in the WBC world rankings.
Nakash, 31, has been fighting since being enrolled in a Thai boxing scheme as a 10-year-old. Distinguished by a large Star of David tattoo on his back and biblical inscriptions on his neck and arms, Nakash had eight of his first 11 fights in Israel. Although still Haifa-based, his last five bouts have been in the US.
