Chigwell Athletic boosted their hopes of retaining the Henry Swerner Cup after a nail-biting victory over arch rivals North London Raiders A.

The teams were deadlocked at 2-2 in the first-round match. James Cartmell and Lee Cash registered for Raiders, while Adam Stolerman (pen) and Rob Donn equalised for Chigwell.

The cup competition kicked off this weekend, with EDRS suffering an early exit as they went down 4-0 to Brady A, thanks to goals from Ashley Davidson, Kevin Lotzof, Mark Wagman and Adam Gishen.

Chigwell scored all four of their spot-kicks, with Glenn Davis converting the decisive strike, and Chigwell progressed after Raiders were unsuccessful with two attempts.

Second-half goals from Jonny Summerfield and an own goal edged Scrabble past HMH 2-0.

Brady Maccabi A eased past second division EDRS Stonegrove 4-0 in the preliminary round. Ashley Davidson, Kevin Lotzof, Mark Wagman and Adam Gishen were the marksmen.

Maccabi London Lions B have retained the Maccabi Masters League Division Two following a 3-1 success over Glenthorne.

The east Londoners forged ahead via an own goal, but Michael Abraham, Peter Joffe and Ory Halperin struck in the second half as Lions romped to an emphatic title.
