Yuri Foreman won his second comeback fight by impressively stopping journeyman Jason Davis at the Resort World Casino in Queens, New York.
Foreman, the former WBA light-welterweight champion, used his ramrod jab to take control of the fight in the opening round and ended proceedings in style in the second as he floored the Washington fighter three times to force a stoppage after one minutes 55 seconds of the round.
Foreman, who recently returned to the ring following a two-year absence backed Davis to the ropes before unleashing a left uppercut which floored his opponent, winner of 13 of his previous 26 fights. Davis beat the count only to go down from a flurry of hard punches.
Once again he climbed off the floor but there was no hiding place as Foreman, 35, ended the fight with a left hook to the body to record his 34th victory - and his 10th inside the distance - from 36 fights.
But Foreman will need to up the level of his opposition to mount a bid for another title shot seven years after being crowned WBA champion with his victory over Daniel Santos.
