Comeback kings Raiders continue to lead the way

Leaders North London Raiders remain top of Maccabi Masters Football League Division One following their 5-3 win over EDRS Stonegrove. Despite being behind for much of the game to goals from Phil Silver (2) and Malcolm Joseph, Raiders hit back with goals from Ashley Davidson (2), Kevin Lotzof, Daniel Mendoza and Dean Schulberg.

London Maccabi Lions A put themselves firmly in the Maccabi Masters League Division One title race picture with a 3-2 win over South Manx, with goals from Adam Lee (2) and Nathan Kosky. Nick Roman (pen) and Eric Elbaz scored for South Mancs.

Glenthorne United A retained their outside hopes by beating Temple Fortune A 3-2 thanks to Jason Levy, Greg Morris and Sid Shaw. Gil Ashkenazy and Yari Mamouri replied for Fortune.

Fortune boss Simon Allen said: "It was quite a good performance. We gave them a good game and had enough good chances to have snatched a draw."

In Division 2, it’s now a three-horse race for the title with Norstar and Clayhall A galloping for the line, and Lions B coming up fast on the rails.

All three picked up wins, with London Maccabi Lions’ 7-0 win over Pel City providing the most eye-catching result, courtesy of Arthur Duke (3), Howard Freeman (2), Brian Donne and Laurence Swerner.

Unbeaten Clayhall Park Casuals A remain favourites for the title, and reinforced their claim with a 5-2 win over Temple Fortune B, despite having been 2-0 down to goals from Fortune’s James Ryan and an own goal. Clayhall stormed back to win the points with goals from Dave Roberts, Brian Deal, Michael Kushner, Warren Ludwin and Neil Sapler.

Norstar kept their noses in front with a 3-1 win at Glenthorne B, with Lee Cohen (2) and Gary Rowland giving them the edge over Glenthorne, for whom Steve Larn grabbed a consolation.
