Brady sent out title warning

It was a day of goals in the Masters League, with 42 goals in the six games.

In the Maccabi Masters League Division 1 title race, Brady Maccabi A sent out a clear message to leaders North London Raiders with an emphatic 9-0 win over Faithfold. Nick Collins (2), Scott Ansher (2), Laurence Beck, Laurence Myers, Marc Lee, Marc Herman and Mark Abrahams all scored to take Brady to within a point of Raiders, with a game in hand.

London Maccabi Lions A dealt a 7-2 thumping to South Mancunians, with Danny Reuben (3), Adam Lee (2), Warren Leader and Phil Lewis scoring for Lions, whilst Nick Roman and Nick Tromans replied for Mancs.

In Division 2, the title all but belongs to Clayhall A, who dispatched London Maccabi Lions B 5-1 thanks to goals from Ian Sumray (2), Brian Deal, Warren Ludwin and an own goal, whilst Julian Marks notched up Lions’ solitary consolation.

Glenthorne United B and Pel City shared the points and two goals, Fara Moghim scoring for Glenthorne, Andrew Cohen doing likewise for Pel.

Brady Maccabi B overcame Temple Fortune B, Gary Field (2), Roger Kay and an own goal earning them a 4-2 win. Phil Small and Jeremy Fess replied.

Norstar won 6-4 against Clayhall B, for whom Nigel Conway and Lindsay Ingram scored two apiece, but goals from Norstar’s Greg Bradman, Simon Lawrence, Steve Jakar, David Jackson and Bruce Brent (2) earned them the points and guaranteed them a top two finishing position.
