Today's news in the JC that the government is reviewing the coroners' service, with a view to speeding up its investigations, is welcome for a number of reasons.
Most obviously because it is likely to address a long-standing problem for the community. It reflects well both on Michael Gove , the Secretary of State, and on the minister responsible, Caroline Dinenage, who appear completely to understand the issue. But it also shows how much can be achieved when Jews co-operate with Muslims.
As in the case of shechita, when our interests coincide and we present a united front, genuine, beneficial results can be achieved.
