The ingredients are short and sweet for this simple but wow recipe. Serve wrapped in Chinese pancakes - buy them in Waitrose, or an oriental store if you have one locally. Or you could just eat the turkey/duck on its own. It's also great in an oriental-style salad.
Serves: 4–6
Ingredients
● 2 turkey drumsticks
● 1 jar of hoisin sauce
To serve:
● Chinese pancakes
● Cucumber
● Spring onions
● Plum sauce
Method
● Put your drumsticks in a large saucepan and cover with water.
● Bring to the boil, then turn down the heat. Put a lid on the pan and simmer for two and a half hours, until the meat is falling off the bones.
● Preheat the oven to 200°C/ fan 180°C.
● Remove from the pan, and flake all the meat from the bones, discarding the skin and bones.
● Spread the flaked meat out on a baking sheet or roasting tray and pour over the jar of sauce, toss it to coat the meat well.
● Put into the oven for about 30-40 minutes, turning occasionally, so the meat become crispy.
● Serve with pancakes, cucumber and spring onions cut into thin strips, or with rice or noodles and steamed pak choi.
