Keeping it kosher:
There’s a whole range of kosher caterers offering their own menus. Here are just a few of our favourites, but you’ll need to be fast if you want to order as closing dates are approaching fast:
Dvash:
There’s a huge menu available from this high-class caterer. Choose from a range of Middle Eastern-inspired dips and salad including matboucha; baba ganoush; hummus and charred cauliflower; mains such as Moroccan sea bream and chicken and chestnut tagine or stuffed courgettes and a range of sides and desserts. There are also some Ashkenazi-inspired classics like gefilte fish and a switched up chopped liver — billed as chicken liver mousse with pistachio and date syrup. All sounds mouth-watering and available here but make sure you order before end of play Friday September 8.
1070:
Another kosher caterer offering to bring the feast to you (for a fee) and delivering to a number of London postcodes (check yours here) is 1070.
They have a range of new year inspired dishes including a range of Sephardi and Ashkenazi classics, from chopped liver and chicken pastillas to brisket with baby onions and pomegranate sauce and Moroccan-style salmon chrayme.
There are vegetarian and vegan options (think butternut stuffed with quinoa, chickpeas and spinach) and a vast range of dips, salads and side — chatzilim (aubergines with chilli and parsley) and Farsi carrot and sultana rice being just a couple. Chocolate mousse topped with honeycomb; honey cake; apple strudel and chocolate dipped Medjool dates are just a few of the dessert options.
You can even get your round challah from them — a one stop shop for new year eats.
Panzer’s
The St John’s Wood institution can deliver kosher food boxes (prettily packed in Panzer’s trademark dark green boxes tied with bright ribbon) for you to bring in your tastiest new year yet.
Their basic (kosher) hamper (£69) includes spring honey; a honey cake; Bendix mints; selection of dried fruits plus a sweet-smelling honeycomb candle. Take it up a notch with the deluxe version (£110) which adds a whole heap of tasty treats, including a bottle of kosher red (Peraj Petita) from Spanish winemaker Capçanes. Or there are a range of other options here which can be delivered across the country.
If you’d rather pick your own sweet treats, they offer their own honey cake as well as a gorgeous range of beautifully packaged honeys and can make up fruit boxes which can be delivered to local postcodes and a huge range of apples, pears and even quinces.
