Bible maven: Noa Swabel answers questions in the finals of the International Bible Quiz

A London schoolgirl came seventh in the International Bible Quiz in Jerusalem, which was broadcast live on Israeli TV on Yom Ha’atzmaut.

Noa Swabel, 16, from Golders Green, who is a pupil at the Hasmonean High School for Girls, spent two weeks in Israel with 29 students from 16 countries on a Chidon Hatanach camp, having earlier qualified for the final stages of the contest.

“The Chidon has been one of the most incredible and unforgettable experiences of my life,” she said.

“I’ve met so many amazing people who all are passionate about Tanach from all over the world and it’s really inspiring to talk to them.

“It was a privilege to represent my country on yom haatzmaut, and to share my love for Tanach with others.”

Chidon Hatanch UK will be visiting Jewish schools in the summer to recruit challengers for next year’s contest.
