UJIA’s Shelley Marsh is to replace Raymond Simonson as Limmud executive director.
Ms Marsh, director of informal education at UJIA, said she and her family had long been involved in Limmud activities. Holder of a Masters in community leadership, she has worked in the informal Jewish education sector for 15 years.
She sees her appointment as “a great opportunity to work for an organisation I have long admired. I strongly identify with its vision and values and am inspired by what it has achieved in recent years.”
Ms Marsh will work closely with new Limmud chair Kevin Sefton, who will succeed Carolyn Bogush at the end of the year.
Mr Sefton runs a management consultancy. He has been a trustee on the Limmud executive board for four years and has been vital to the development of Limmud globally.
Mr Simonson is leaving to become CEO of the Jewish Community Centre for London, having served for six years as Limmud’s first full-time executive director.
