Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis has paid tribute to Kingston, Surbiton and District Synagogue on the 60th anniversary of its building’s consecration.
Addressing 140 members and guests at a celebratory dinner in the shul hall, Rabbi Mirvis said that, in the south London congregation, “people have always counted and the community has excelled through the people it has produced. As a result, the Kingston community remains a source of Jewish continuity in a powerful way.”
Others at the event included former Kingston ministers Rabbi Stanley Coten, Rabbi Zvi Lieberman, Rev Bernd Koschland and Rabbi David Mason.
