Zig Zag came from behind to claim a 3-1 victory over Team JLGB.
JLGB started the game brightly and were in control from the off. The first real chance of the game feel to Joe Cullum and he took his chance sensationally. The goal was an absolute stunner, probable goal of the season for JLGB and a definate reccomendation for goal of the week.
The ball was played forward from the back by the retuning Paul Black and Rob Silverman was able to flick the ball through to Joe Cullum he struck from fully 30 yards with incredible accuracy and power. The ball flew in and the keeper had no chance. A terrific strike.
JLGB then switched off and Zigzag managed to score twice in rapid succession having plenty of success on the wings and playing balls over the top.
Dan Curtis then hit the post with a well taken free kick.
Jonny Reid made an excellent run from left back and picked up the ball on the wing and put a great cross in which was just a couple of inches too high for Silverman who had no-one around him.
However, before they knew it, JLGB were 3-1 down.
Paul Black and Justin Freedman swapped positions with Black moving to central midfield and Freedman to centre back and this sured things up somewhat. Black immediately involved more putting a great ball through for Cullum who stretched to pshoot first time putting the ball just wide.
After half time, chances were a bit more of a premium and there were no more goals. Silverman had a couple of long-range efforts well saved from the keeper and Cullum had a one-on-one but his control let him down and the keeper gathered.
James Wright made his debut for JLGB today and looks a good signing. He had a solid game in midfield and manager Silverman thinks that "he is going to be a real success once he gets back into 11-a-side".
Reviewing the match, Silverman said: "JLGB struggled to play their game today on a pitch that was terriblly cut up and bobbly. But credit to Zigzag who took their chances
"JLGB hope to be able to see the season out with a in-depth review at the end of the season to decide the team's future."
