On Valentine’s Day, we reflect on the many forms of love and the actions it inspires. For Jewish Child’s Day (JCD), love is more than just a sentiment – it’s a commitment to care for children who need JCD most. More than a year after the devastating events in Israel on October 7, JCD continues to step up, just as it has for 77 years. This dedication to children in need is at the heart of its work.

life-changing support

Each year, Jewish Child’s Day supports more than 130 projects, reaching more than 25,000 children. Since October 7, the charity has awarded over £360,000 in grants to help children affected by the war. These funds have supported 75 charities tackling critical needs, including trauma therapy and safe accommodation for disabled children who have been left homeless.

Adele Busse, head of grants, says: “The effects of the war will continue for a long time, and we want to be there to help as many children as possible for as long as they need us. But we can only do what our donors enable us to do. The more money we receive, the more we can direct to where it is most needed.”
