South bounced back from a heavy defeat to Miam Miam by beating a strong Village side at the Armitage.
South gave Bobby Abrams his debut alongside last season's top scorer Adam Lavin.
Despite hitting the bar several times and seeing chance after chance go by, eventually two fine Lavin strikes and Levy via a deflection sealed the win.
South face strong title contenders Mace next sunday, in what has been a very testing start for Loz Newman and Mark Stewart's men.
