Manchester Maccabi boss Tony Rosenberg reckons his side won’t lose another game all season if they play like they did in Sunday’s thrashing of Forresters-Dunkinfield.

Maccabi were forced to play 70 minutes with ten men after midfielder Louis Basso was forced off with an ankle injury

With resources stretched and without any substitutes, Maccabi were left a man down, but still proved too hot to handle for their opponents.

Jonny Quinn fired the visitors ahead before Max Rose marked his debut by doubling Maccabi’s advantage after just six minutes.

Basso’s injury allowed Forresters back into the contest and they halved the deficit before the break to leave Maccabi facing a nervy second 45 minutes.

But Rose doubled his tally for the day before Quinn bundled the ball home from close-range, after the Forresters goalkeeper had fumbled Adam Green’s cross.

Adam Stevens volleyed home a fifth with the last kick of the game to round off a fabulous flowing move and Rosenberg was delighted with his side’s showing.

“It was magnificent performance,” he said.

“They showed such courage and commitment. It was a great win for us.

“If we play like that in every game until the end of the season then we’ll win every single game.”

Rosenberg had just ten players at his disposal on Sunday morning before managing to acquire Rose from Maccabi’s 2nd team.

And with fellow youngsters Danny Rubinstein and Rick Myers also making their debuts, Rosenberg had five players under the age of 18 in his starting line-up.

He added: “We had lots of players missing for various reasons, but the lads who came in were outstanding.

“We had schoolboys playing in the Tameside League and it’s just wonderful to see.

“If you’re good enough then you’re old enough and the players who didn’t play might have a tough job to get back into the side after this.”

Meanwhile, Manchester Maccabi 2nd suffered a 2-1 defeat by Price Waterhouse Cooper in the Manchester Accountants League Division One.
