Watford Friendly League - Green Division
Omonia White 2-3 Pinner JFC

After the disappointment of the their first loss and first draw, Pinner looked to get back to winning ways and maintain their first place status in the Green Division of the Watford Friendly league.

The Sky Blues travelled to Enfield to play Omonia White and with the teams in second and third place respectively, it was a good chance to put a little bit of light between them and their rivals.

The game started well with Pinner pressing for the early goal, which came after ten minutes when a cross from right winger Adam Cohen, took a wicked deflection to beat the Omonia keeper at his near post.

Half Time came and the Sky Blues were told to continue to pressure and dominate the game. It paid off after only a few minutes when a mazy run down the left wing, by top scorer Ben 'The Bullet' Green finished off a magnificent move by smashing the ball into the back of the net.

Omonia fought back and were awarded a penalty, when the ball bounced striking the opposing player's arm, who was guarding the post. It was very harsh, even though goalkeeper Remy Marsh, managed to get a hand to it.

Omonia then went with the momentum by scoring a fine equaliser but with seven minutes remaining and spurred on, the Sky Blues went all out in attack and Green finished off another fine run with his trademark left-peg, which saw the ball nestle in the back of the net. Needless to say he was awarded Man of the Match.

Pinner continued to dominate for the final minutes to maintain a two-point gap between themselves and second place.

With one more game before the Christmas break, Pinner hope to go into 2012 still perched at the top of their division.

They kick off the New Year with a Challenge Cup game against Harvesters North in the last sixteen of the competition.
