Pals count the cost of a Madonna workout

So, Kabbalah devotees Madonna and Guy Ritchie are to split, with Ritchie blaming his wife's loyalty to Jewish mysticism as one of the reasons for the breakdown in their marriage. As for Madge, she is already looking after the pennies, possibly in anticipation of the effect the divorce settlement will have on her estimated £250 million fortune. Apparently, the 50-year-old singer has been charging friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney, to use her home gym. A source told the Daily Mail: "Madonna demands a token amount for cleaning and upkeep but the price has been creeping up. Stella and Gwyneth found they were giving her hundreds of pounds. Stella offered to pay in clothes but Madonna wants cash only." Maybe that's why she is still worth £250 million.

If you thought things had seemed a little quiet on the Amy Winehouse front lately, think again. Her latest pleasure appears to be coke (and I'm not talking about the cola variety) candy floss. A "source close to the singer" told The News of The World the concoction had been created by her pal, Babyshambles guitarist, Mick Whitnall. "It was Mick's idea. The candy floss machine was Amy's pride and joy and he thought it would be funny to give it a boost. He and some pals sprinkled a wrap of coke into the mixture and Amy started eating it before she realised what they'd done. She now thinks it's a hoot to do the same." Meanwhile, Oasis main man Noel Gallagher has little sympathy for Winehouse's problems, accusing her of "attention seeking".

High School Musical star Zac Efron has had to commit to staying squeaky clean after signing his latest deal with Disney. He's been warned off being seen kissing in public, drinking alcohol and coming out of clubs in the early hours. Maybe they should sign up Winehouse next.

The delightful Katie Price has revealed to The Independent's Deborah Ross what her Jewishness means to her. She admits she doesn't follow the religion but speculates that her kosher roots may account for her "wanting to earn money". The former glamour model also talked of being "snubbed" by singer Rachel Stevens at the GQ awards. "It was when she was big and she was with her manager and someone asked for a picture [of them together] and she was like: ‘No, no, no', probably because I wasn't good enough. And where is she now? Strictly Come Dancing." Ross, much like me, didn't see that as a particular insult and asked Price if that meant she wouldn't ever take part in the hit BBC show. "I haven't got the time, unless they want to pay me five million, then I'd do it. Five million to have Pricey on the show." Must be those Jewish genes kicking in again, Katie.
