Traditionally, Liverpool don’t sack their managers. As a lifelong (33 years) Reds fan, it pains me to even be writing this as I know how short people’s memories can be in football.
No-one will ever forget how he led the team to victory in the Champions League in his first full season but it’s the Premier League title that us Liverpool fans want most.
The team is currently in the midst of a blip of major proportions. It’s common knowledge that when star men Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres don’t play, Liverpool don’t play (well very).
I believe that boardroom tensions haven’t helped but, as much as I’m trying to keep faith in Rafa the Red, it appears that the end is nigh.
I just hope that Michael Owen doesn’t hammer the final nail in Rafa’s coffin on Sunday as before he moved to Old Trafford, I was at the head of the queue telling him to resign one of Liverpool’s best-ever strikers before his arch rival Fergie.
