On June 2 last year, I was probably just about the only person who said that Avram Grant would be a tough act to follow after he was sacked as manager of Chelsea, and how right I was.
Many Chelsea fans believed that the grass would be greener under Luiz Felipe Scolari but I wasn’t so sure. He might have led Brazil to the 2008 World Cup but club football is a completely different kettle of fish.
Avram who was the headline when Grant took over at Chelsea but it appears that he’s had the last laugh.
The 53-year-old is current favourite to replace Tony Adams at Portsmouth and has been rumoured to be involved in the equation to find the next Chelsea boss, possibly working alongside Guus Hiddink.
I know a certain Israeli who is out of work, has unfinished business and the team is still in the cup, Champions League and third in the table. Wonders will never cease…
