Whilst we are on the subject of remarkable community achievements, here's one that would have been inconceivable a while ago. When Daniel Taub takes up his position later this year as Israeli Ambassador to the Court of St James, both he and his counterpart in Israel, Matthew Gould, will be British-born Jews.
Mr Gould is a class act, and has made a hugely positive impression in less than a year in Israel. Mr Taub has a hard act to follow here but those who know him in the UK - and there are many - speak immensely highly of him. Whatever strains there may be between governments, diplomacy could be entering a golden age.
