Kosher approval

As we cram our trolleys full of kosher-for-Passover goods, take a look around. Are the crowds in the kosher sections a little bigger than usual? In the United States, there has been a boom in the sale of kosher goods - but it is not fuelled by Jewish shoppers.
There is a growing feeling among non-Jews over there that kosher means healthy. The inference is that because kosher products are supervised you can trust what goes into them. Kosher food producers in this country might want to capitalise on this perception. Perhaps kneidlach, schmaltz and lockshen could become the new macrobiotics. Stranger things have happened. Surely?
