The four contenders for the Labour leadership take part on Monday night in a hustings at JW3 hosted jointly by the Labour Friends of Israel, the Jewish Labour Movement and the JC. After the “catastrophic” tenure of the first Jewish leader of the Labour Party — as Michael Dugher described Ed Miliband’s handling of Israel and the Jewish community — he or she will have a tough job rebuilding support. But it is encouraging that all four agreed so swiftly to take part in such a hustings — the first-ever specifically aimed at the Jewish community. It’s a start.
