British Jewry is blessed with many public figures who adorn the nation itself. One of them, Baroness Neuberger, has just been appointed to chair the inquiry into the Liverpool Care Pathway — a hugely sensitive, vitally important and horrendously difficult task. But rarely has there been an inquiry chair more obviously suitable to the task, given the many hats that Baroness Neuberger has worn through her rich public life. Some though when she returned to a communal role that her other, public career might wind down. Not a bit of it.
