Republic of Flixton strengthened their grip on the MJSL title after defeating reigning champions Haroldeans 3-1 in Manchester.
Republic, who are now two points clear of Manchester Maccabi 2nd with a game in hand, saw off the Merseysiders thanks to Rob Jacobs’ double and a James Rosenberg strike.
Haroldeans, who stormed to the league crown last season, hit the target through Sam Kersh, but defeat leaves them 11 points off the pace.
Charles Braunstein was on target for Leeds Maccabi 2nd as they drew 1-1 against Oakhill with the visitors claiming a point thanks to an own goal.
In the Tony Cohen Memorial Trophy first round, Broughton and FC Cosmos produced an astonishing 10-goal thriller.
Jeremy Barr netted a hat-trick for Broughton with Mikey Balkin and Osher Landes also on target.
But Rafi Newman and Alex Glassman both scored twice with David Klapisch also on target.
In the end, it was Cosmos who triumphed on penalties.
In the Manchester Accountants League, South Manchester Sports Club 1st suffered a setback in the race for the title.
South were held to a 1-1 draw at Saints with Harvey Kaye grabbing the goal.
In the Sunday Alliance League, Leeds Maccabi were held to a 1-1 draw by defending champions New Unicorn.
