Leeds Maccabi 1st missed a glorious opportunity to move level at the top of the Sunday Alliance Premier League after conceding a dramatic late equaliser.

Leading 2-1 against defending champions New Unicorn thanks to goals from Nick Vale and Jordan Marks, the current leaders hit back with just four minutes remaining to steal a point.

Maccabi currently sit third in the league, three points off the top having played a game more.

Elsewhere, Manchester Maccabi 1st crashed out of the Brian Brockbank Rosebowl in heartbreaking fashion after going down 3-2 on penalties following a pulsating 5-5 draw.

Adam Stevens and Ryan Silvester both scored twice and Ben Shalom was also on target, but it was Gardners Arms – Hyde, which progressed to the next round.

In the MJSL, leaders Republic of Flixton were given an almighty scare by bottom of the table Crumpsall 1st, before eventually prevailing 3-2.

Two goals from Adam Wilson and a Daniel Garman strike edged Republic back to the top of the table after Moishe Klyne and an own-goal had threatened an upset.

Haroldeans bounced back from their Peter Morrison Trophy exit with a 2-0 win at FC Cosmos thanks to goals from Adam Taylor and Matt Alis.

Leeds Maccabi 2nd produced a five-star showing to see off Manchester Maccabi 3rd in a seven-goal thriller.

Dan Davidson’s double and further strikes from Johnny Goldstone, Ben Ullmann and Dov Gilbert secured the points.

Jake Kelly and Rafi Lewis were on target for fifth place Maccabi 3rd.

Oakhill Lions eased to a 7-3 win over Broughton thanks to doubles from Benji Lass and Anthony Madden.

Jacob Brunner, Marc Maynard and Saul Hoyland were also on the scoresheet for the Manchester students.

Nathan Pitt and two own-goals helped Broughton keep the deficit to four.
