Zoopla threaten to pull West Brom sponsorship over Anelka

articlemain

Online property-search company Zoopla has threatened to cancel it £3 million shirt sponsorship deal with West Bromwich Albion football club over Nicolas Anelka's quenelle gesture.

According to the trade publication Marketing Week, Zoopla said it would cancel the arrangement immediately if the player is selected for tonight's Premier League match against Everton.

Zoopla is co-owned by Jewish businessman Alex Chesterman, who is said to be shocked by the club’s decision to continue picking the former French international following his Nazi-style salute during a match three weeks ago.

The Football Association is investigating the incident, although frustration has been expressed over the length time it is taking.

At a meeting of the Board of Deputies on Sunday, the Board’s executive called on the FA to make a decision on Anelka “without further delay”.
