Any boy about to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah can expect a flood of well-wishing cards as the day draws near.
But Jack Worsley received a rather more surprising delivery in the post: a personal note from Arsène Wenger.
The Arsenal manager wrote to Jack, 13, from Highgate, after he raised £2,000 for the Arsenal Foundation by taking part in a three-hour football marathon and setting up collection boxes outside his school, Portland Place, and Finchley Reform shul.
"The Arsenal Foundation seeks to inspire young people around the world through education and sport," Mr Wenger wrote.
"It is thanks to the dedication of people like yourself that we are able to do this work."
"I'm a lifelong Arsenal FC supporter," said Jack, who is currently in year nine. "I was over the moon to have received the letter."
