Israeli firefighters are battling to put out a “growing” blaze near Jerusalem.

The fire was ignited in the Beit Shemesh area, east of Jerusalem, on Friday afternoon.

Authorities have said that the fire, which started in the Ya’ar Ha’Nasi forest, is: “Growing at a tremendous rate due to strong winds”.

It is said to pose a threat to residents living in Tarum, Ta'oz and Kfar Uriya.
