American presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign hit a bit of a stumbling block yesterday when a promotional photo was tweeted featuring Nazi soldiers.

The picture – which Trump’s campaign blamed on an intern – showed Trump’s face next to the White House, overset by the American flag…alongside some Nazi soldiers.

The tweet contained the slogan: "We need real leadership. We need results. Let's put the U.S. back into business!"

Apparently the image of soldiers was a stock image of re-enactors, however rather than representing America’s armed forces, the uniforms had the SS eagle insignia on their arms as well as the dot camouflage print that is associated with the Nazis.

The picture was removed from Twitter along with an apology – blaming the poor intern.
