One of the largest-ever gatherings of Shoah rescuers took place in Warsaw this week. The event to honour 35 Polish rescuers of Jews, organised by the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous, was likely to be among the last of its kind, as the Righteous Gentiles ranged in age from the late 80s to 101. “These are heroic people of exceptional character,” said JFR executive vice president Stanlee Stahl.
