Sarah Jessica Parker, aka Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw, and her actor husband Matthew Broderick have twin daughters via a surrogate mother, the couple’s publicists have announced.
Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, who already have a six-year-old son, James Wilkie, have named their daughters Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge. The babies were born on Monday in Ohio, home state of the surrogate mother.
"The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon," the couple said in a statement.
The Jewish actress is expected to begin shooting a sequel later this year to the "Sex and the City" movie, itself a spin-off from the successful HBO TV series of the same name.
The film will again star SJP, and Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis, and according to an interview Parker gave in February, the sequel will be “a romp”.
Broderick, star of the Broadway musical and movie "The Producers," and Parker have been married since 1997.
