A spokeswoman for the Jewish community in Madrid has denied the authenticity of quotes attributed to its chief rabbi in which he reportedly called gays “deviants” who need “re-educating”.
Rabbi Moshe Bendahan was alleged to have made the comments last week during an interview for Religion Digital, a news website.
In reply, the news portal released a statement insisting that the quotes were genuine.
