Jewish screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has been nominated for a Golden Globe for his film about the creation of Facebook.
The Social Network, which stars Jewish actors Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield, is up for best screenplay at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
It has also been placed in the category for Best Film, while its stars have been nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively.
To take the prize The Social Network will have to beat the forthcoming drama about rivalry in the ballet world, Black Swan.
The film, directed by Jewish filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, stars Natalie Portman. The Jerusalem-born star has also been nominated for Best Actress, while Mr Aronofsky is up for Best Director.
Ms Portman is competing against her co-star Mila Kunis, in the category.
Jewish writers Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg have also been nominated for an award for The Kids Are All Right, a film about a lesbian couple and their children.
Jake Gyllenhaal could be named Best Actor in a comedy for the film Love and Other Drugs.
The Concert, which tells the story of a conductor at the Bolshoi orchestra who lost his job for hiring Jewish musicians, has been nominated for Best Foreign language Film.
The Golden Globes also recognize television work. Actress Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on the hit television series Glee, could win Best Actress for the role.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on January 16.
