A film written by Aaron Sorkin has been nominated for a Golden Globe for the second year in a row.

The Jewish screenwriter triumphed with the Best Screenplay award for The Social Network at last year's awards and could do the same at this January's ceremony.

His film Moneyball, about a baseball coach's unorthodox methods, has also been nominated for Best Drama. It will go head to head in the category with Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Michael Morpugo's story War Horse, and Hugo, which stars Sasha Baron Cohen as a train conductor.

The cancer comedy 50/50, which stars Jewish actors Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen, is up for Best Comedy. Woody Allen is shortlisted for Best Director for his romantic film Midnight in Paris.
