Social media campaign asks French to wear kippot in solidarity

articlemain

Following the suggestion on Tuesday by a leading member of the Jewish community in Marseilles that Jewish men should “remove the kippah during these troubled times ”, a social media campaign has been launched calling on all of France to wear kippot in solidarity.

The campaign, which uses the hashtag "#TousAvecUneKippa" (everyone with a kippah) features photoshopped images of famous people wearing the skull cap – including Michael Jackson, Vladimir Putin and the Mona Lisa.

The campaign calls on members of the public to join in a coordinated kippah-wearing effort on Friday at 10am.
