America’s Republican Party released a draft platform this week that backtracked on its support for a two-state solution. The statement described Jerusalem “as the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish state”, and appeared to roll back on recognition of Palestinian nationhood, with key clauses leaving out the concept of “two states for two peoples”.
