Israel’s Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu is the star of a new US advert which warns of the risk of a nuclear Iran.
The television advert, produced by independent group Secure America Now, shows edited clips of a speech the Prime Minister made last week in Jerusalem.
"The fact is that every day that passes, Iran gets closer and closer to nuclear bombs," he says.
He continues: “The world tells Israel, 'Wait, there's still time.' And I say, 'Wait for what? Wait until when?'"
Mark Regev, Prime Minister Netanyahu's spokesman, said the advertisement had "not been co-ordinated with us, we were not consulted and no one asked us for our permission”.
The anti-Obama segment is being screened in districts of south Florida, many of which have very large Jewish populations.
According to a recent report conducted by the American Jewish Committee, the majority of Jewish voters in Florida will vote for President Barack Obama in the November election.
The 254-person survey notes that 69 percent of Jews from Florida will support President Obama, while 25 percent are expected to vote for Republican Mitt Romney in the upcoming presidential White House election.
The Israeli embassy said that support from both parties is “a paramount national interest,” according to the JTA.
However, survey participants showed a lack of concern with security policy as only one percent of respondents cited Iran’s nuclear programme as a top issue, five percent noted National security and another five percent cited US-Israel relations.
On the other hand, 54 percent of voters considered the economy a pivotal issue, while 16 percent named health care initiatives.
