Natalie Portman has returned to her Jewish roots with the name for her firstborn.
The Jerusalem-born actress has named her son "Alef" after the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
Ms Portman is engaged to Alef's father, the Black Swan choreographer Benjamin Millepied.
However there is no word yet on the possibility of Alef being joined by a sister called Bet.
