Adam Krief, a US blood cancer sufferer whose campaign to find a bone marrow donor involved more than 10,000 people around the world, announced this week that a match had been found and that he was on his way to receive the transplant.
“This is what cloud 9 looks like … I’m so grateful to let you all know that a donor has been found,” Mr Krief wrote on Facebook.
Mr Krief, from Los Angeles, was diagnosed with primary myelofibrosis - a rare and aggressive type of blood cancer - in July.
Since then, his family worked tirelessly to find a donor, said to be the only way to save his life.
