Lieberman: Don't blame Mossad for Dubai murder

The European Union has condemned the use of EU passports in the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh at a luxury Dubai hotel, but so far has not directly linked Israel to the killing.

The Foreign Minister of the EU member states issued a statement which said: "The EU strongly condemns the fact that those involved in this action used fraudulent EU member states' passports and credit cards acquired through the theft of EU citizens' identities."

"The EU welcomes the investigation by the Dubai authorities and calls on all countries to co-operate with it."

The Austrian Foreign Minister, Michael Spindelegger, said: "I see no context that it really was an assassination and that the Israeli government is involved. All those are assumptions, but there are no proofs."

Dubai’s police chief Dahi Khalfan Tamin has previously stated he is “99 per cent certain” that Mossad carried out the assassination and has called for an arrest warrant for Mossad chief Meir Dagan.
