The only surviving Pakistani gunman from the 2008 Mumbai attacks was executed this morning.

Mohammad Ajmal Amir Qasab was hanged in Pune's Yerwada prison in India, despite a plea for mercy from Pakistan.

The attacks on a Chabad house, hotels and railway station on November 26 2008, led to the deaths of 166 people.

Mr Qasab was involved in the attack on the main railway station.

The Supreme Court upheld a conviction of murder and his death sentence in August 2010.
