Comedian Larry David, one of America's most famous misanthropes, is not known for his social graces. So it's no surprise that he's been accused of causing a scene at a wedding.
According to a new biography of Elon Musk, David a long-term Democrat, allegedly confronted Musk at a 2022 wedding, asking him: “Do you just want to murder kids in schools?”, seemingly referencing the Uvalde school massacre which had occurred just four days before.
The confrontation took place at the wedding of Jewish super-agent Ari Emanuel in St. Tropez, where David, a client of Emanuel's officiated the ceremony.
Musk reportedly denied the claims to David, saying "I'm anti-kid murder" before David said, "Then how could you vote Republican?"
Speaking to author Walter Isaacson, David said of Musk: “His tweets about voting Republican because Democrats were the party of division and hate were sticking in my craw.”
“Even if Uvalde never happened, I probably would have brought it up, because I was angry and offended.”
This wedding altercation is not David's first foray into public displays of anti-Republican rage. In the summer of 2021, David reportedly screamed at former Trump lawyer Alan Dershowitz at a supermarket in the elite enclave of Martha's Vineyard.
According to Dershowitz, “He called me disgusting, and he said he could never talk to me,” Dershowitz said. “Here’s a guy who used to come to our house to work out in the gym. He would come to our house for dinner two or three times a summer.”
